Wow...how time flies. I can't believe that it is already a week since I last wrote on here.
I've been trying to think about what to write, as everything feels in place now and I'm in the swing of how things work and when I need to do things.
This last weekend was rather exciting as I went to my first American Football game here in Monroe, it was the local High School and it is amazing how different it is to English Secondary Schools. It was such a blast and a great experience, my friend had to explain throughout most of the game as to what was going on. The team we were supporting unfortunately lost but I was so pleased to have seen another side of the culture here.
For all of us at YWAM it has been a pretty strange weekend at the same time and also quite sad. A boy called Andre(age 10) who lives on the street behind ours ran out of his house the other night, about 3:30 am and legged it to one of the YWAM leaders house nearby as he had heard someone breaking into his house and he was home alone. The cops arrived and looked around, everything seemed to be okay but this poor little boy was scared very badly and his mum is now in trouble for leaving him at home. She has to work at nighttime to make ends meet. If you could, please pray that God's peace will reign over Andre and that the right decisions are made.
That same day one of our neighbours cars backed out of their driveway, hit a small cement wall and flew in the air and then crashed into our concrete wall by our driveway. The car was totalled and the wall is pretty badly damaged.
All in all it was a rather eventful Sunday!
We had a great time at a local Church, the one we went to last weekend, called Elevation. The pastor is young, fun and very enthusiastic. They are the kind of sermons that you hang onto their every word.
This last week we did a two day course called 'Ancient Paths' which is basically like freedom prayer. It was based on the question 'Who am I?' and who we let answer the question. Many of us turn to a boyfriend and someone else for the answer but it made me realise how important it is to let God be the answer.
I'm learning just how incredible God is. Our times of intercession are incredible, being together with fellow Christians whose hearts are on fire for God is a wonderful experience. No one here is afraid to sing their hearts out! In fact it is something we all do in our free time together. Today we were singing the chorus of Mighty to Save, it goes:
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
our God is mighty to save,
He is mighty to save.
Forever the Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave!
It was such a heart felt prayer from all of us there this morning, it was one of those 'goosebump' moments.
Last night was spent out on the front porch with some others from the group finishing our homework due this morning!!! We had fun cutting out different coloured bits of paper to stick into our journals and having Christian music playing.
Life is pretty fantastic and I thank God for showing me that I should come here and for all these wonderful friends that I have made.
I pray that you all have a fun and God filled week.

I love updates! :)
I've finished visiting all the colleges now, and am off to Boston tomorrow, then NYC on Wednesday.
What sort of things have you been learning from the training?
